These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Barcut Pro: the website at barcutpro.com, the application at app.barcutpro.com and the Engine API (together, "the Service"). Please read them, and the Privacy Policy, before you use the Service. By creating an account, starting a subscription or calling the API, you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Barcut Pro is operated by Ahmed Burhan, a sole trader based in Ireland ("we", "us", "our"). We are not registered for VAT.
You can reach us at hello@barcutpro.com. We reply to every message in writing, normally within two working days.
Consumers and business customers
Some of these terms apply differently depending on who you are:
- A consumer is an individual using the Service mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
- A business customer is anyone else, including sole traders and companies using the Service for work. If you accept these terms on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and "you" means that business.
Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have as a consumer under Irish or EU law that cannot be excluded by contract.
What the Service does
Barcut Pro calculates cutting plans for bars, profiles, pipe, timber and other linear stock. You enter the parts you need, the stock you have and your saw settings (kerf, end trim, minimum offcut), and the Service returns a suggested plan. You can also save projects, profiles and stock, share them within an organisation, export reports and cutting lists, and, on a paid plan, use the Engine API.
The Service is offered as it stands. We improve it continuously and may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes during a period you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused part of that period.
Check every cutting plan before you cut
A cutting plan is a calculation based entirely on the figures you provide. The Service does not know whether a length was mistyped, whether your saw's real kerf matches the setting, whether a bar is damaged, or whether a stated stock quantity is really on the rack.
You are responsible for checking every plan, measurement and quantity before cutting any material. We are not responsible for material that is wasted or miscut because the input was wrong, a setting did not match the machine, or a plan was used without being checked. This does not limit our liability for a defect in the Service itself, which is covered under Our liability.
Your account
You need an account for some features. You must give a valid email address, keep your password secure and not share your login. You are responsible for activity on your account and must tell us promptly at hello@barcutpro.com if you think someone else has used it.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
Free use
You can use the optimizer without an account, and with a free account, up to the limits shown on the pricing page. These limits exist so the Service stays free to try. We may change them, and we count free use with a cookie and a one-way hash of your network address, as explained in the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy. You must not try to get around them, for example by scripting requests or creating multiple accounts.
Pro subscriptions
Plans and prices. Barcut Pro Pro is available monthly at €19.99 per month, or yearly at €199.99 per year. Prices are in euro. They are shown on the pricing page and again on the checkout page before you pay. Any VAT we are required to charge is included in the price shown to consumers.
Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited. We never see or store your full card details. By subscribing, you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. Invoices and receipts are available from your billing page.
Free trial. Your first subscription may begin with a 7-day free trial. One trial is available per person. You need to add a payment method to start a trial, but you will not be charged during it. We will email you before the trial ends. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription converts automatically to the paid plan you chose, and the first payment is taken on the day the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, you are never charged.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it over the following days. If it still cannot be collected, your account returns to the free plan. Your saved data is kept.
Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any price increase. A new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Plans granted by agreement. Some accounts, for example those covered by an agreement with an organisation, receive Pro without paying through the Service. That access lasts as long as the agreement does. Any separate agreement takes precedence over these terms where the two conflict.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your billing page or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not charged again. Cancelling does not delete your account or your saved data.
Apart from your right to withdraw (below) and anything else required by law, payments for a period that has already started are not refundable.
Your right to withdraw (consumers)
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the day you start it, without giving any reason. The day you start a subscription is the day you complete checkout, including when your subscription begins with a free trial.
To withdraw, tell us clearly before the 14 days end. You can email hello@barcutpro.com, cancel from your billing page, or use the model form below. You do not have to use the form.
Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw within the 14 days, we will refund every payment you have made for that subscription in full. We do not deduct anything for the days you used. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, to the payment method you used, at no cost to you.
The right to withdraw applies to the initial contract. It does not apply again each time the subscription renews.
Model withdrawal form
Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.

Organisations and shared data
If you create or join an organisation, its owners and administrators can invite and remove members and decide what is shared. Data shared with an organisation can be seen, and depending on their role changed, by its members. Whoever owns the organisation is responsible for the people they invite and for having the right to share the data they share.
The Engine API
Pro subscribers may create API keys and call the Engine API. API keys are secret: do not publish them or embed them in software distributed to others. You are responsible for all use of your keys, so revoke a key straight away if it is exposed. We may apply rate limits, and may suspend a key used in a way that harms the Service or other users.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, using the Service;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or probe, scan or test their security without our written permission;
- disrupt or overload the Service, including with automated requests outside the Engine API or beyond its limits;
- get around usage limits, paywalls or trial eligibility;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product, except where the law allows this regardless of these terms;
- upload malware, or content you do not have the right to use.
Your content
Your cutting lists, projects, profiles, stock records and other data you enter ("your content") belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and display your content only as needed to provide the Service to you and to the people you share it with. We do not sell your content or use it to advertise to you. You can export your cutting plans and reports at any time.
Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, optimisation engine, design and documentation, belongs to us or our licensors. While you comply with these terms, you may use it for your own projects and those of your business. Cutting plans and reports produced for you are yours to use as you wish.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service available and working well, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to suspend it briefly for maintenance or security reasons. We will try to keep any interruption short.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time. To have your account and data deleted, email us; see the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if you fail to pay, or if we are required to by law. Unless the matter is urgent (for example, a security risk or illegal activity), we will tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix the problem. If we close a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of your current period. We may also discontinue the Service entirely by giving at least 30 days' notice and refunding any unused period.
When an account is closed, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your content first, unless the law prevents this.
Our liability
For everyone: nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
If you are a consumer: we must provide the Service with reasonable care and skill, in line with its description, and in conformity with your contract, as required by law. If we fail to do so, you have legal remedies, including having the problem fixed, a price reduction or ending the contract. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses: the consumer plans are for personal use.
If you are a business customer:
- to the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is", and we exclude all implied terms, warranties and conditions, including those about fitness for a particular purpose;
- we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts or anticipated savings, for wasted material or labour, or for any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period, or €100 if that amount is lower than €100.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change the Service or the law changes. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you are unhappy with a change, you can cancel before it takes effect and receive a pro-rata refund of any period you have paid for but not used. The "Last updated" date above always shows the current version.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you have a complaint, please contact us first. Most problems can be resolved quickly by email.
If you are a consumer, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of Ireland or of the EU country where you live. You also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie) provides information about your rights.
If you are a business customer, the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction.
General
- These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy make up the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a business that takes over the Service, and this will not reduce your rights.
- We will contact you by email at the address on your account. Notices to us go to hello@barcutpro.com.
- These terms are written in English, and the English version is the one that applies.
